It looks like the New York Rangers are closing in on their second NCAA free agent, but the first big prize in Michigan State center Patrick Khodorenko.
The Rangers are very thin at center, so this makes a lot of sense for the Blueshirts. The 6′, 210 lb 21 year old is one of the coveted NCAA free agents, with many surprised he lasted through his senior season without a contract.
For the last three years, Khodorenko has put up at least 32 points with Michigan State, topping out at 18-19-37 in his junior season.
