Rangers call up defenseman Ryan Lindgren from Hartford

A day after giving up seven goals in a loss to John Tortorella’s Columbus Blue Jackets, the Rangers Monday called up defenseman Ryan Lindgren from AHL Hartford. Lindgren, 20, was perhaps the biggest piece – along with a first-round pick in the 2018 NHL draft – that the Rangers got back from the Boston Bruins in the Rick Nash last February.

At Hartford, Lindgren has skated in 35 games this season, collecting five assists, a plus-7 defensive rating and 41 penalty minutes, which is third-most on the Wolf Pack. It also is most among AHL defensemen younger than 21 years old.
