Game 45.
Rangers at Capitals.
The Rangers finish their three-games/four-days rivalry trek in D.C. this evening. They are 1-1 so far, and 3-1-1 in their last five, including an overtime loss to the Capitals eight days ago at the Garden (remember, :05.7 left, and all that?).
They haven’t won consecutive games since Nov. 21-23.
The Rangers are actually 1-1-1 against the Big Red Machine this season, winning handily early in the season, getting throttled 7-3 during the December swoon, and having multiple chances to win the game last week, leading in the final seconds of regulation, and getting two tremendous opportunities moments before Alex Ovechkin’s game-winner in sudden death.
