The Rangers announced Thursday they’ve agreed to terms on an entry-level contract with 2015 second-round draft pick Ryan Gropp.
The 19-year-old winger, who has been playing for the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL, was selected with the No. 41 overall pick in this year’s NHL Draft, the selection the Rangers acquired from the Ducks along with Emerson Etem in exchange for Carl Hagelin, the No. 59 pick and the No. 179 pick.
The Rangers were high on the Kamloops, British Columbia native and he was their main motivation behind the trade. He has 18 goals and 14 assists in 32 games for the Thunderbirds this season.
