NEW YORK -- The New York Rangers agreed to terms Sunday with free agent forward Justin Fontaine on a two-way contract and assigned him to Hartford of the American Hockey League.
Fontaine, 28, has skated in 197 NHL games over three seasons, all with Minnesota. He has 27 goals and 41 assists for 68 points, along with a plus-22 rating and 58 penalty minutes.
The 5-10, 174-pound Fontaine skated in 60 games with the Wild in 2015-16, getting five goals and 11 assists. He had a plus-3 rating and 20 penalty minutes.
Fontaine previously played two seasons (2011-12 and 2012-13) with the Houston Aeros of the AHL.
