The focus in the offseason will be on the RFAs. Surprisingly though, there has been little talk about which kids will comprise the next wave of NY Rangers rookies. The Rangers keep adding promising prospects to fill out their roster, and these kids play a role in their offseason plans. There are certainly plans to pencil in some kids into next season’s roster.
As currently constructed –meaning signed players only, no RFAs signed, no trades– the Rangers will have 4 forward spots and 1 defense spot open. Naturally that won’t be the case when camp opens, but the Rangers will leave room for kids to compete for a spot.
