The Rangers have announced that Kevin Shattenkirk will not come back this season. In addition, goaltender Alexandar Georgiev has been sent back to Hartford.

Shutting down Shattenkirk is definitely the smart move with the final few games of the season being, for all intents and purposes, meaningless. This will allow him to not only make sure he has a full recovery but that he can strengthen his knee coming into training camp next season.
