Well, the Rangers sure showed spunk in Saturday’s season finale against the Penguins, rallying from a goal down in the third period to take the lead before winning 4-3 in overtime.
But if you care more about draft position than the result of a meaningless 82nd game of a non-playoff season, and that includes just about everybody except the guys in uniform, then like Mr. Grant, you hate that spunk.
Because on a night when a regulation defeat would have put the Blueshirts in the five hole entering Tuesday’s draft lottery in Toronto, this victory achieved on Ryan Strome’s left-wing wrister at 2:09 of the three-on-three left the team in the sixth spot.
