The Philadelphia Flyers have named Alain Vigneault the 21st head coach in franchise history.
During his tenure on Broadway, Vigneault won 226 games with the Rangers which was the third most by a head coach in franchise history.
His new deal with the Flyers is reportedly $5 million a year for five seasons.
According to Craig Custance, then of ESPN, Vigneault was scheduled to make $4.25 million this season as part of an extension signed with the Rangers in January of 2017.
Vigneault can’t be paid by both teams concurrently, so the Rangers will have that money to theoretically allocate to other parts of the organization.
