The New York Rangers got a modicum of revenge against the Capitals for a loss on February 25 in Washington. On Tuesday night, in the friendly confines of Madison Square Garden, the Blueshirts took an early lead and came away with a solid 5-3 victory.
It was also the first win at home for newcomer Patrick Kane, who lost his Garden debut against the Ottawa Senators on March 2. The Rangers went on a four-game road trip afterwards forcing this magic moment to wait a little longer.
“It was great,” Kane said. “The building was on fire tonight.
