Rangers coach Alain Vigneault wasn’t forced to change the lines he had sent out against Ottawa due to injury or illness, but center Josh Jooris, who played just under seven minutes against Ottawa, was a healthy scratch on Tuesday against Carolina.
Oscar Lindberg came back into the lineup, centering a fourth line of Matt Puempel and Brandon Pirri.
Jooris, 26, signed as a free agent after playing for Calgary, had appeared in five games, and recorded one assist.
Lindberg, who had off-season hip surgery, did not dress for three of the last five games.
Michael Grabner, the team’s leading goal scorer with 12, was in the lineup.
