The Edmonton Oilers announced Monday that when the Rangers visit Rexall Place on Dec. 11 to be shut out by Cam Talbot, the organization will raise a banner to honor current Rangers president Glen Sather, who solidified his legend by guiding the Oilers to five Stanley Cup championships from 1984 through 1990.

I know what you’re thinking: “The Oilers don’t already have a banner raised in Sather’s honor? But, Pat, they have banners for Al Hamilton, Wayne Gretzky, Jari Kurri, Grant Fuhr, Paul Coffey, Mark Messier, Glenn Anderson and long-time radio broadcaster Rod Phillips.
