A key RFA this offseason has been locked up, as the NY Rangers re-sign Filip Chytil to a 4 year contract with a cap hit of just $4.4375 million. To say the deal is nothing short of a master class might actually be an understatement, as Chytil’s contract was projected to be in the $5 million range initially. Naturally, this gives the Rangers more wiggle room with other key RFA’s this offseason.
Chytil was a unique RFA, where a two year bridge deal would have walked him right to unrestricted free agency at just 25 years old.
