The Rangers are 12-2-2 in their last 16 games, and have cemented themselves in the playoff picture. They’ve had big wins against good teams in this stretch, and tonight is another one with the Dallas Stars coming to town. The Stars are quite good, but not as good as they were to start the season. They have depth, goaltending, and enough skill to make the Rangers pay for mistakes.
As of the writing of this post, the Rangers are definitely without Chris Kreider. They may be without Julien Gauthier as well, but it does seem like he will play.
