Last week, I wrote about what the Rangers needed to do to make the playoffs. I theorized that they needed a 74 point pace, meaning they’d need to go 21-7 to close out the season. Since then, they’ve gone 3-1, which keeps that 21-7 pace. If the Rangers want a shot at sneaking into the postseason, they need to win about 75% of their remaining games, or go about 18-6 in their final 24 games.
While the Rangers have outscored the flyers 17-3 in their last two meetings, the Flyers have outscored the Rangers 3-2 in the last period and a half.
