The NY Rangers have extended forward Jimmy Vesey, giving him a two year contract beyond this season. It looks like the cap hit is $800,000, which is fine.
Vesey has been a great surprise for the Rangers this year as one of the more consistent play drivers and shot suppressors on the team. This is a great value contract for the Rangers, keeping costs down in an area where they are notorious for overspending. Hopefully this leads to cheaper 4th liners, leaving money open for the skill players that are naturally more expensive.
