The New York Rangers selected Swedish defenseman Calle Sjalin with their 145th pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. Sjalin, 17, played with Östersunds IK last season where he totaled five goals, ten assists, for a total of 15 points. He was ranked #44 overall out of all European skaters by NHL Central Scouting, and is expected to play for Leksands IF next season (second highest division).
Also like NYR pick Calle Sjalin. Played DIV-1 (aka 3rd level) pro hockey in Sweden. Looked good for Swedish U18 team whenever I watched.
