The joy of watching the 2019-20 New York Rangers is you never know what you are going to get. They can dominate the Tampa Bay Lightning, then be thoroughly humiliated by them a week later. They can soundly beat the Pittsburgh Penguins and lose badly to the Ottawa Senators. Call them team inconsistency, but it is their youth and inexperience that makes them fun to watch.
There were several keys to this win. Henrik Lundqvist stood tall in the first period, assisted by his posts and crossbar. The power play worked and the penalty kill didn’t let them down.
