New York Rangers: Vigneault Falls Short of Jack Adams Award

New York Rangers tradition went unbroken as head coach, Alain Vigneault, finished second in voting for the Jack Adams Award. Since the beginning of the recognition in 1974, not one Rangers coach has won the award, according to Andrew Gross.

With AV not winning Jack Adams Award, there still has never been a Rangers coach to win award while with the Rangers.

The Jack Adams Award is given out to the head coach “adjudged to have contributed the most to his team’s success” as voted by the NHL Broadcasters’ Association.
