With the New Year coming up quick, the Rangers are certainly preparing for the Winter Classic at Citi Field. The New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres look to fight for the state of New York in Flushing.
The Sabres were participants in the first ever NHL Winter Classic against the Penguins in 2008. This will be the second appearance for the upstate New York team to take a shot at an outdoor win.
The Rangers, having participated in three outdoor games to this point, the 2012 Winter Classic, and the two Stadium Series in 2014. Henrik Lundqvist backstopped all three of those Rangers teams to a win.
