The New York Rangers came home after a fairly disastrous four game road trip to face the Red Wings, another lottery-bound team. Reinforcements came from Hartford as Vinni Lettieri and John Gilmour were called up and inserted into the starting lineup.
There have been a lot of folks calling for Gilmour to get a shot with the big club as he leads all AHL defensemen in scoring with 53 points. Vinni Lettieri also got the call up after scoring 23 goals and 46 points in 44 games. With only ten games left in the season, Rangers management has to figure that it’s time to figure out if they players have any kind of future in New York.
