The New York Rangers play one more game at Madison Square Garden before beginning a four game road trip to western Canada and Minnesota. They will be up against the New Jersey Devils, fresh off a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of the Washington Capitals. While a Devils win will help the Rangers’ lottery aspirations, it is very, very unlikely.
That’s not to say that the Rangers have been setting the world on fire. They are winless in their last six games, despite taking their opponents to overtime in four of those games. The Rangers’ inability to win in extra time is the single factor keeping them in the lottery race.
