The big news that came out of New York Rangers practice on Wednesday was that Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin will be on different lines when they play Buffalo on Thursday. Zibanejad will center the top line with two new wingers. Chris Kreider will be on his left and Kaapo Kakko is moving up to the top line right wing slot.
The second line will feature Ryan Strome at center with Artemi Panarin and Pavel Buchnevich. Blue Line Station advocated this move six days ago and it is overdue. Although the Zibanejade-Panarin combination has been productive, splitting up the pair solves a lot of problems.
