The New York Rangers continued to remodel their forward group, inking Brandon Pirri to a one-year deal worth $1.1 million, per Elliote Friedman of Sportsnet.
This comes on the heels of the Rangers inking coveted free-agent Jimmy Vesey, trading for Mika Zibanajad, depth signings like Nathan Gerbe, Josh Jooris and Michael Grabner, and bringing over top-prospect Pavel Buchnevich.
Not only does this move give the Rangers a talented goal scorer whom they can move up and down the top-nine, it sets them up to trade for a defenseman.
Right now, the Rangers have 15 forwards on the roster, which includes Tanner Glass and excludes Buchnevich and Nicklas Jensen.
