The New York Rangers salary cap issue is no mystery. After signing Artemi Panarin for over $11 million, the team is left with approximately $8 million in cap space. That total is not a final number as there are more roster moves to make and it doesn’t include non-roster players like Kaapo Kakko and Vitali Kravtsov. It does include Matt Beleskey’s salary and he will end up in the AHL.
At any rate, the $8 million number is close to what the Rangers have to work with. That’s the sum they have to sign RFA’s Jacob Trouba, Pavel Buchnevich, Tony DeAngelo and Brendan Lemieux.
