The Derek Stepan and Antti Raanta trade is starting to look like a bad one for the Rangers. Tuesday afternoon, the team announced that Tony DeAngelo, who was acquired in that trade, has been sent to the Hartford Wolf Pack.
DeAngelo has skated in just eight games for the Blueshirts and is a minus-four with just one assist. Over the last two games, DeAngelo was dressed as the team’s seventh defensemen and only saw ice time on the powerplay.
Head coach Alain Vigneault clearly did not trust the 22-year-old defenseman in defensive situations which led to DeAngelo enter Vigneault’s doghouse.
