You have to be a longtime Ranger fan to remember seeing Vic Hadfield play. His role on the GAG (Goal a Game) line has become part of Rangers lore. His accomplishments were many, but he left New York on bad terms. More on that later.
Hadfield came up to the Rangers as an tough guy. Never a big scorer in juniors or the AHL, he made it to the NHL for good in 1962 and led the league in penalty minutes in his second season. In his first five seasons he averaged 16 goals and 99 penalty minutes.
