New York Rangers’ Raphael Diaz Steps Up Against the Devils

The New York Rangers swept the preseason series against the New Jersey Devils last night in what was a close race. Defenseman Raphael Diaz scored twice on the power play, one right after another, Derek Stepan assisting both times. Stepan then lifted the Blueshirts to victory with two goals of his own.

Diaz has a career high of three goals in a regular season – in 59 games with the Montreal Canadiens – so to score two goals in under twenty minutes is certainly eye catching. Diaz was even close to pulling off a hat trick.
