The New York Rangers dropped another match to prolong their early season slump last night against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Rangers fell to 0-2 on the road in last night’s tilt and continue to be sloppy in all three zones.
Of course, Alain Vigneault’s player deployment and combinations have been about as bad as it’s ever been –and that’s saying something. The Rangers likely won’t regain their footing until Vigneault stops creating some unthinkable combinations, such as Ryan McDonagh and Nick Holden.
The Devils, on the other hand, appear to be overachieving to this point. Coach John Hynes has done a remarkable job coaching his Devils to be a quick and gritty team.
