The story of the 2018-2019 New York Rangers is coming into focus. With each passing game, the bad habits, losing mentality and lack of star power make the losses sting more and more. The game against the Los Angeles Kings was similar to the one against the Chicago Blackhawks in that New York just could not sustain any offensive pressure.
Things started out well enough with Vladislav Namestnikov scoring his first goal of the season at 11:11 of the first period on a feed from Pavel Buchnevich. This was the only goal of the first even though the Rangers were out-chanced by almost a two to one ratio.
