The New York Rangers officially announced Peter Laviolette’s coaching staff on Friday morning.
Per the press release, Phil Housley will join as the team’s associate coach. Meanwhile, Michael Peca and Dan Muse will take on the role of assistant coaches.
There’s a key difference here because Housley has more authority than both Peca and Muse. Usually, that also means if the head coach is unavailable or dismissed, the associate coach is most likely to fill the position.
All three have a prior relationship with Laviolette.
