The New York Rangers have reportedly already made the decision to send left winger Matt Beleskey to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL, per Larry Brooks of the New York Post.
Brooks is also reporting that the club will now only be charged $825,000 against the salary cap as a result of this move.
Beleskey, 31, was acquired by the Rangers as part of the deal that sent Rick Nash to Boston in 2018. The Rangers also acquired Ryan Lindgren, Ryan Spooner, and two first-round picks in the 2018 and 2019 drafts as a result of the deal.
