On a 5-on-3 advantage, the Rangers were finally able to take advantage of the Carolina Hurricanes. New York’s Game 1 loss featured seven empty power plays. There’s no way they were ever going to win this series if that trend continued.
The bad news is that the Rangers fell victim to another early goal.
