After being hammered 5-1 by the Philadelphia Flyers in their last outing before the NHL’s annual holiday freeze, the New York Rangers go head-to-head against the Carolina Hurricanes tonight (7:00 p.m. ET).
It is a huge game for the Blueshirts who need a W in order to keep pace in a hugely competitive Metro Division, and they can’t afford too many more slip ups.
The Rangers have been overtaken by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the Metro, and the margin for error is getting smaller and smaller by the day.
As such, the Blueshirts will need to take care of business against a Hurricanes team who have playoff aspirations of their own this year.
