New York Rangers: Lias Andersson sent back to Hartford

The announcement was made by Jeff Gorton on Friday and should be considered an assignment instead of a demotion. Lias Andersson was recalled on November 5th and has seen action in 21 games. He had one goal and three assists and was minus five in those 21 contests.

Andersson’s future has been debated for weeks with many feeling that instead of averaging ten minutes of playing time on the fourth line, he would be much better off playing top line minutes in the AHL. With Jesper Fast and Cody McLeod returning from injured reserve and with Boo Nieves playing well on the fourth line, it appears that there is no room for Andersson on the major league roster.
