New York Rangers: Lessons from a frustrating loss in Pittsburgh

One step forward and two steps back might be the New York Rangers motto for the 2018-2019 season. Every now and then the group on the ice manages to put together a total 60-minute effort like it did on Friday, February 15th against the Buffalo Sabres. However, far too often the Rangers fail to play a complete game and it results in hair pulling and frustration.

The Penguins did not outplay the Rangers for a majority of the game. The turning point came early in the third period when Pittsburgh center Evgeni Malkin put the team on his back and potted a pair of goals to put his guys in front.
