After blowing a two-goal lead on the way to losing in a shootout on the road on Dec. 14, the New York Rangers certainly had something to prove at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night after dropping three straight.
They didn’t hang around either.
It all started less than 10 minutes in as Filip Chytil waltzed his way up the ice before applying the backhand finish, and the Rangers crushed their foot on the throat of the Ducks from that point on.
Brett Howden, who had spoken prior to the game about the Rangers having a point to prove, tallied his fourth goal of the year before Chris Kreider quickly responded after Sam Steel had clawed a goal back for Anaheim.
