The list of people to blame for the New York Rangers demise is a very long one.
At the top of it should be head coach Alain Vigneault for not employing his best personnel in key situations. Marc Staal and Nick Holden are probably second and third on this list, making really bad defensive plays at really bad times.
Ryan McDonagh and Dan Girardi weren’t horrible, but they could’ve been better–at least McDonagh could have been, anyway–and guys like Derek Stepan, Rick Nash and Chris Kreider, three of the Rangers core forwards couldn’t provide an offensive spark either.
