New York Rangers: Jack Johnson is expected to pass through waivers today, are the Blueshirts carrying three goalies again?

The Rangers placed Jack Johnson on waivers yesterday in order to put him on the taxi squad. Will someone take a flyer on the 34 year-old vet who is on a cheap $1.15 million one year deal? The answer is most likely not, but you never know.

Jack Johnson on waivers

Johnson has appeared in 13 games this season for the Blueshirts and has posted one goal and -5 rating. He’s averaging 16:58 of ice when he plays and posts 1.15 blocks per game to go along with 2.30 hits per game.

It isn’t impossible that a team looking to add a veteran defenseman to their taxi-squad wouldn’t consider a player like Johnson.
