April 2nd, 1939 – Rangers vs. Bruins – 2-1 L

The first ever Game 7 in Rangers history was an absolute marathon. Both teams scored a goal in the 2nd period, but none in the 3rd, so they went to overtime. Then they went to a 2nd overtime, and then a 3rd. Mell Hill of the Bruins finally put the game to bed in the 3rd overtime, and while shots on goal weren’t tracked back then, it’s astonishing that Rangers goalie Bert Gardiner played 108 minutes.
