The excitement and build up of Patrick Kane making his long awaited New York Rangers debut fizzled out on Thursday night.
Despite having some familiarity and chemistry with good friend and old teammate Artemi Panarin, Kane came up blank. Unfortunately, the team’s defensive coverage issues continue to haunt them as they blew a 3-2 third period lead to an eventual 5-3 loss.
“We’ve got four days in between games, so it’ll be nice to settle in, get a couple practices and understand the way they want to play systematically with the puck, offensive zone, things like that,” Kane said.
