Last season the New York Rangers went out and acquired Brendan Smith from the Detroit Red Wings at the trade deadline. The year before that, the Rangers went out an acquired Eric Staal from the Carolina Hurricanes.
The list of rentals acquired at trade deadline by the Rangers could go on and on from years past. However, I don’t want to get to Olli Jokinen, so I’m going to stop it there.
