All teams submitted their protected lists to the Seattle Kraken at 5 PM ET. This morning, roughly after 10 AM those lists will be sent to all teams and we should know who the New York Rangers opted to protect.
Chris Drury acquireD the rights to Barclay Goodrow who will be a UFA on July 28th. He also shipped out Brett Howden; which helps explain the re-signing of Julien Gauthier. Having either Howden or Gauthier signed allowed them to meet the requirements of exposing two forwards under contract for next season if they wanted to protect either Colin Blackwell or Kevin Rooney.
