New York Rangers Draft: Fontaine Has Two-Way Potential

In the 6th round of the 2016 NHL Draft with the 171st pick, the New York Rangers selected Gabriel Fontaine of the QMJHL. The 19-year-old center has a lot to bring to the table with his strength and skill, and if he keeps it up, it shouldn’t be too long before he sees the Garden’s ice.

Fontaine is 6’1″ and weighs 185 pounds, which might seem a little underweight for a player of his stature, but you can be sure that he finishes his checks and isn’t afraid of anyone who seems larger.

With the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL, Fontaine recorded 45 points in 63 games, a career high for him with any team he’s played for.
