New York Rangers’ Dan Girardi Deserves his Bill Masterton Award Nomination

The PWHA names a nominee from each of the league’s 30 teams and the award is eventually given to an NHL player that best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey. The New York Rangers’ is Dan Girardi.

Often this award is given to players who have overcome something throughout their season –

Mats Zuccarello was the Rangers’ nominee last year after a fractured skull ended his season in 2014-15.

However, with a fortunate lack of any scenarios like this for the this season, Girardi is a very worthy recipient of the nomination.
