Among the 23 players that have elected for salary arbitration is Derek Stepan. Is this a good thing? Is it a bad thing? What does it all mean?
It means Stepan didn’t like the offer the Rangers gave him, nor did the Rangers like what Stepan must have expected. So, neither the Rangers nor Stepan have agreed to a deal yet.
Now a third party will step in to offer up a contract that both parties can possibly agree on.
