The New York Rangers are about to sign 23-year-old Michael Lindqvist. The right winger is currently a member of Färjestad BK in the Swedish Hockey League.
Lindqvist appeared in 33 games for Färjestad BK, registering 20 goals and 14 assists for 34 points. He also compiled 22 penalty minutes on the season. In three prior seasons playing for AIK of the Allsvenskan League, Lindqvist put forth 32 goals in 143 games.
Johan Svensson of KvallSposten, a Swedish website, is reporting that the Rangers are, indeed, Lindqvist’s choice.
