New York Rangers can tie for second place with win over Sabres

The New York Rangers can move into a tie for second place in points in the Metropolitan Division on Monday when they host the Buffalo Sabres.

The Rangers (47-21-12, 106 points) are two points behind the New Jersey Devils after a 4-0 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday. New York and New Jersey each have two games remaining on their respective schedules.

“Obviously we want to get ready for the playoffs and try to create good habits,” center Mika Zibanejad said. “But, also, winning keeps the mood up and that’s what we want to keep doing the next two games here, and try to get ourselves ready for the playoffs.
