According to capfriendly, Boo Nieves accepted the Rangers tender offer on Friday July 13. As a restricted free agent, Nieves had until Sunday at 5pm to accept the offer or to proceed to arbitration. In 28 NHL games this past season, Nieves posted nine points including one goal.
In addition to his limited NHL action, Nieves also played 40 games in the AHL. Down with the Hartford Wolf Pack Nieves posted 21 points in 40 games. Being that the forward signed a two way contract, he could make the team out of camp and still be sent down without having to clear waivers.
