In the last week of the regular season, the New York Rangers worked their butts off over a span of five games with only a couple days of rest mixed in.
Between the 4th and the 11th of April, the Rangers faced the New Jersey Devils for a 6-1 win before resting up for their eventual 4-3 win in overtime against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The very next day, the Blueshirts outmatched the Devils again, 4-2, to win the coveted Presidents’ Trophy with the best record in the entire NHL.
The Rangers (sans Rick Nash and Marc Staal) then went on to face the red hot Ottawa Senators, resulting in a 3-0 shutout for Sens goalie, Andrew “the Hamburglar” Hammond.
